This app is so cool! I've always wanted there to be a hub for all NATURAL remedies and preventative options but l've always had to do loads of digging to find the info I wanted for different natural products. HealisticMD has all the info I need in one place. It gave me various natural supplemental options for a condition I looked up, including what each remedy does and how much is usually recommended to take. It also gave me exact products I could buy for the problem I had looked up. It makes my process SO MUCH easier when I need to find non-pharmaceutical solutions to my needs.

There is a wealth of information on the app! I recently had bloodwork done and found I was deficient in a handful of vitamins and minerals (Vitamin B12, Vitamin D, Iron, etc.) HealisticMD made it simple for me to find out what foods to eat/ supplements I needed to improve these deficiencies. It gives you so many ideas on prevention, natural health tips, where to buy the vitamins, when to take them, why, etc. I love how easy the app is to use too. I am currently working on getting pregnant. I was pleasantly surprised to find compelling data along with supplement suggestions to aid in the process, some of which my fertility doctor wasn’t even aware of. Highly recommend downloading, after all health is one our greatest gifts!

Aromatherapy diffusion is the therapeutic use of plant-derived essential oils dispersed as fine airborne particles that are inhaled and processed through the olfactory nerve and lungs. Unlike topical aromatherapy, diffusion works primarily through the sense of smell — one of the fastest sensory pathways to the brain's emotional and memory centers. It is one of the oldest healing modalities in human history, practiced across virtually every major civilization.
When aromatic molecules are inhaled, they bind to olfactory receptors in the nose, which send signals directly to the limbic system — the brain's emotional control center — influencing mood, stress hormones, and the autonomic nervous system almost instantly. Some volatile compounds (like eucalyptol and menthol) are also absorbed into the bloodstream through the lungs in small amounts, contributing to anti-inflammatory and airway-opening effects. The net result is a calming, mood-lifting, or energizing effect depending on the oil used.
Ultrasonic diffusers are the most popular home option — they use water and vibration to disperse a fine mist and are gentle on oil chemistry. Nebulizers disperse pure oil without water or heat, producing the most concentrated aromatic output for clinical settings. Heat and evaporative diffusers are simpler and more affordable but can alter delicate oil compounds. For sleep, a bedroom diffuser running 30–60 minutes before and during sleep onset is the standard approach.
Burning aromatic plant resins, herbs, and woods for healing, ceremony, and pest control dates back at least 6,000 years across Egypt, Mesopotamia, China, and India. The distillation of essential oils was refined by Persian physician Ibn Sina (Avicenna) around 1000 CE. The term 'aromatherapy' was coined by French chemist René-Maurice Gattefossé in the 1930s after famously using lavender oil to heal a burn, and modern clinical study of inhalation aromatherapy began in earnest in the 1980s–90s.
What it is typically used for, usual dose, cautions, and the study behind it where real trial data exists.
