Jawline breakouts every month before my period
You can almost mark the calendar by it. About a week before your period, sore bumps rise along your jawline. They sit deep under the skin, and they hurt to touch.
Hormones shift in the second half of your cycle. Oil glands on the jaw, chin and neck react to that shift. Pores clog, bacteria grow, and a bump swells deep down.
This pattern is common, and it does not mean your skin is dirty. Washing more often will not change the timing. Deep, tender bumps in the same few spots each month are what people call cystic acne.
When to see someone
See a doctor if these bumps leave scars, pits or dark dents, or if they come back every month no matter what you try. Go sooner if one spot turns hot, spreads fast, or you feel feverish. Also speak up if your periods stopped, your hair growth changed, or you gained weight fast.
Below is a list of traditional remedies linked to cystic acne. Each one carries a grade for how much research stands behind it. A higher grade means more study exists, not a promise about your own skin.
