Crashing tired an hour after eating
You finish a meal and feel fine. About an hour later, you hit a wall. Your eyes get heavy, your brain goes foggy, and you just want to lie down.
This kind of slump often follows meals built on bread, rice, sweets, or soda. Your blood sugar climbs fast, then falls. Insulin, the hormone that moves sugar into your cells, may be slow to do its job.
Other things can play a part too. Poor sleep, a very large meal, or low iron can all leave you flat. Thyroid trouble and early diabetes can look the same way, so the cause is worth sorting out.
When to see someone
See a doctor if you are very thirsty, pee a lot, or lose weight you did not plan to lose. Blurry vision, numb or tingling feet, fainting, or a pounding heart also need a check. Ask for a blood sugar test rather than waiting it out.
Below is a list of traditional and natural remedies linked to insulin resistance. Each one carries a grade for how strong the research behind it is. A low grade means the proof is thin, so read the grade before you try anything.
