This app is so cool! I've always wanted there to be a hub for all NATURAL remedies and preventative options but l've always had to do loads of digging to find the info I wanted for different natural products. HealisticMD has all the info I need in one place. It gave me various natural supplemental options for a condition I looked up, including what each remedy does and how much is usually recommended to take. It also gave me exact products I could buy for the problem I had looked up. It makes my process SO MUCH easier when I need to find non-pharmaceutical solutions to my needs.

There is a wealth of information on the app! I recently had bloodwork done and found I was deficient in a handful of vitamins and minerals (Vitamin B12, Vitamin D, Iron, etc.) HealisticMD made it simple for me to find out what foods to eat/ supplements I needed to improve these deficiencies. It gives you so many ideas on prevention, natural health tips, where to buy the vitamins, when to take them, why, etc. I love how easy the app is to use too. I am currently working on getting pregnant. I was pleasantly surprised to find compelling data along with supplement suggestions to aid in the process, some of which my fertility doctor wasn’t even aware of. Highly recommend downloading, after all health is one our greatest gifts!

Thieves Oil Blend is a synergistic combination of antimicrobial essential oils — classically clove bud, lemon, cinnamon bark, eucalyptus, and rosemary — blended for their overlapping antibacterial, antiviral, and antifungal properties. It gets its name from a European folk legend about thieves who protected themselves from plague by dousing themselves in herbal vinegars or oils during the 15th century. Today it is one of the most popular essential oil blends in natural wellness, used for immune support, air purification, respiratory relief, and natural home cleaning.
Each oil in the blend brings its own antimicrobial payload. Eugenol from clove disrupts bacterial cell membranes. Cinnamaldehyde from cinnamon interferes with microbial growth. Eucalyptol from eucalyptus opens airways and has demonstrated antiviral activity. Limonene from lemon supports immune cell activity and has antioxidant effects. Rosemary contributes additional antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory compounds. Together, these oils create a multi-target approach that makes it harder for pathogens to develop resistance compared to single-compound treatments.
Most commonly used as a neat essential oil blend that must be diluted before skin application (typically 1-3% in a carrier oil like coconut or jojoba). Diffuser use is popular for air purification and respiratory support during cold season. Diluted spray versions are used as natural household cleaners. Commercial brands like Young Living and doTERRA sell premade blends in multiple formats. Oral use — in capsules or diluted in water — is practiced by some but carries real risks and should only be done under qualified guidance.
The legend traces to 15th-century France during bubonic plague outbreaks, where perfumers or spice traders supposedly used herbal vinegar preparations to safely rob the sick without contracting disease. When caught, the story goes, they traded their recipe for leniency. While the historical details are disputed and likely embellished, the core ingredients — cloves, cinnamon, eucalyptus, lemon, rosemary — have genuine and well-documented antimicrobial histories across European, Arabic, Ayurvedic, and Chinese traditional medicine. The modern oil blend formula was largely standardized and popularized by Young Living Essential Oils in the late 20th century.
What it is typically used for, usual dose, cautions, and the study behind it where real trial data exists.
