This app is so cool! I've always wanted there to be a hub for all NATURAL remedies and preventative options but l've always had to do loads of digging to find the info I wanted for different natural products. HealisticMD has all the info I need in one place. It gave me various natural supplemental options for a condition I looked up, including what each remedy does and how much is usually recommended to take. It also gave me exact products I could buy for the problem I had looked up. It makes my process SO MUCH easier when I need to find non-pharmaceutical solutions to my needs.

There is a wealth of information on the app! I recently had bloodwork done and found I was deficient in a handful of vitamins and minerals (Vitamin B12, Vitamin D, Iron, etc.) HealisticMD made it simple for me to find out what foods to eat/ supplements I needed to improve these deficiencies. It gives you so many ideas on prevention, natural health tips, where to buy the vitamins, when to take them, why, etc. I love how easy the app is to use too. I am currently working on getting pregnant. I was pleasantly surprised to find compelling data along with supplement suggestions to aid in the process, some of which my fertility doctor wasn’t even aware of. Highly recommend downloading, after all health is one our greatest gifts!

Rose essential oil is extracted primarily from the petals of Rosa damascena, the Damask rose, through careful steam distillation — a process so delicate it takes roughly 60,000 roses to produce a single ounce of oil. It has been treasured across Persian, Ayurvedic, Ottoman, and European traditions for over a thousand years as both a medicine and a symbol of beauty. Today, the finest oils come from Bulgaria's Rose Valley and Turkey's Isparta region, where growing and harvest conditions are tightly controlled.
When inhaled, aromatic compounds in rose oil — especially 2-phenylethyl alcohol and geraniol — interact with the olfactory system and influence the limbic brain, the emotional and stress-regulation center. This is why even a few breaths can shift your mood or calm a racing mind. Applied to skin, its anti-inflammatory and antioxidant compounds help reduce redness, support the skin barrier, and may slow visible aging. For menstrual pain, rose oil applied to the abdomen with massage appears to ease cramping, likely by relaxing smooth muscle and improving circulation.
Rose Otto is the gold standard for therapeutic use and aromatherapy. Rose Absolute is more affordable and used widely in perfumery but may contain solvent traces. Rose hydrosol (rose water) is a gentler, water-based form suitable for sensitive skin and facial misting. Diluted blends in a carrier oil (jojoba, sweet almond, or fractionated coconut) are the safest topical delivery method. Always dilute pure essential oil to 1–2% before skin application.
The Damask rose was first cultivated in ancient Persia and later spread to the Arab world, Ottoman Empire, and medieval Europe. Persian physician Ibn Sina (Avicenna) is credited with refining the distillation process in the 10th century and writing extensively about rose water and rose oil for heart health, digestion, and emotional wellbeing. Rose water has been used in Ayurvedic medicine as a cooling and calming tonic for centuries, and roses were central to Greek and Roman ritual, medicine, and love symbolism. The Bulgarian rose oil industry began in the 17th century and remains a global benchmark for quality.
