This app is so cool! I've always wanted there to be a hub for all NATURAL remedies and preventative options but l've always had to do loads of digging to find the info I wanted for different natural products. HealisticMD has all the info I need in one place. It gave me various natural supplemental options for a condition I looked up, including what each remedy does and how much is usually recommended to take. It also gave me exact products I could buy for the problem I had looked up. It makes my process SO MUCH easier when I need to find non-pharmaceutical solutions to my needs.

There is a wealth of information on the app! I recently had bloodwork done and found I was deficient in a handful of vitamins and minerals (Vitamin B12, Vitamin D, Iron, etc.) HealisticMD made it simple for me to find out what foods to eat/ supplements I needed to improve these deficiencies. It gives you so many ideas on prevention, natural health tips, where to buy the vitamins, when to take them, why, etc. I love how easy the app is to use too. I am currently working on getting pregnant. I was pleasantly surprised to find compelling data along with supplement suggestions to aid in the process, some of which my fertility doctor wasn’t even aware of. Highly recommend downloading, after all health is one our greatest gifts!

Damask Rose (Rosa damascena) is a hybrid rose cultivated for thousands of years, with its heartland in Persia (modern-day Iran) and the Rose Valley of Bulgaria. Every part of the plant — petals, hips, and leaves — has been used medicinally, but the petals are the most potent source of the plant's therapeutic compounds. It takes roughly 3–5 metric tons of hand-picked petals to produce just one kilogram of pure rose essential oil, making it one of the most labor-intensive and historically treasured botanicals in the world.
Damask Rose works through several pathways depending on how it is used. Inhaled rose essential oil appears to interact with the limbic system — the brain's emotional control center — reducing the body's stress response and lowering anxiety fairly quickly. Taken orally, its flavonoids and polyphenols act as anti-inflammatory and antioxidant agents, helping ease pain signals (particularly in the uterus during menstruation) and supporting neurotransmitter balance linked to mood. Topically, rosewater's natural astringent and anti-inflammatory compounds soothe irritated skin and help maintain the skin's moisture barrier.
Essential oil is used for aromatherapy or diluted for skin application. Rosewater (a byproduct of steam distillation) is gentler and widely used as a skin toner and in cooking. Dried petal teas are a traditional way to get mild calming and digestive benefits. Standardized capsule extracts (often 150–500 mg) are used in clinical research for pain and mood. Always dilute essential oil with a carrier oil before applying to skin — it is concentrated and can irritate undiluted.
Rosa damascena has been cultivated since at least 900 CE in Persia, where Ibn Sina (Avicenna) described it in his Canon of Medicine as a treatment for heart palpitations, grief, digestive complaints, and skin conditions. It spread through the Islamic world and into Europe via the Crusades, becoming a staple of Ottoman herbal medicine and European apothecaries. Bulgaria's Rose Valley has been producing rose oil since the 17th century and remains one of the world's primary sources today.
