This app is so cool! I've always wanted there to be a hub for all NATURAL remedies and preventative options but l've always had to do loads of digging to find the info I wanted for different natural products. HealisticMD has all the info I need in one place. It gave me various natural supplemental options for a condition I looked up, including what each remedy does and how much is usually recommended to take. It also gave me exact products I could buy for the problem I had looked up. It makes my process SO MUCH easier when I need to find non-pharmaceutical solutions to my needs.

There is a wealth of information on the app! I recently had bloodwork done and found I was deficient in a handful of vitamins and minerals (Vitamin B12, Vitamin D, Iron, etc.) HealisticMD made it simple for me to find out what foods to eat/ supplements I needed to improve these deficiencies. It gives you so many ideas on prevention, natural health tips, where to buy the vitamins, when to take them, why, etc. I love how easy the app is to use too. I am currently working on getting pregnant. I was pleasantly surprised to find compelling data along with supplement suggestions to aid in the process, some of which my fertility doctor wasn’t even aware of. Highly recommend downloading, after all health is one our greatest gifts!

Rose water is the aromatic aqueous co-distillate produced during steam extraction of essential oil from Rosa damascena (Damask rose) or Rosa centifolia petals. Unlike rose essential oil, it retains water-soluble phenolic acids, flavonoids, and trace volatiles that confer both cosmetic and mild therapeutic properties. It has been continuously manufactured in Persia (modern Iran) and Bulgaria for over a thousand years and is referenced in Avicenna's Canon of Medicine as a wound-healing and eye-soothing remedy.
Rose water exerts its topical effects primarily through antioxidant flavonoids (kaempferol, quercetin) that scavenge reactive oxygen species and inhibit pro-inflammatory cytokines including IL-1β and TNF-α. Its tannin and gallic acid content contributes mild astringency, helping to tighten pores and reduce transepidermal water loss (TEWL). Phenylethanol and related alcohols provide mild antimicrobial activity against common skin pathogens such as Staphylococcus epidermidis, supporting skin-microbiome balance without the harshness of synthetic preservatives.
Pharmaceutical or 'triple-distilled' ophthalmic rose water is filtered to remove particulates and is the form used in ophthalmic clinical studies. Cosmetic-grade sprays and toners vary considerably in phenolic content depending on petal quality and distillation method. Cold-pressed or steam-distilled preparations retain more bioactive content than synthetic fragrance imitations. When rose water is incorporated into creams or serums, its contribution is diluted but can still provide humectant and anti-inflammatory benefit.
Rose cultivation for medicinal and cosmetic water dates to at least the 10th century CE in Persia, where Avicenna (Ibn Sina) documented its use for eye inflammation, headaches, and wound care. The Ottoman Empire established large-scale rose water production in Isparta, Turkey. India adopted it through Mughal court culture (Gulab Jal), integrating it into Ayurvedic formulations for skin and eye conditions. Today Iran, Bulgaria, Turkey, and Morocco remain major producers, and rose water remains one of the world's oldest continuously used topical preparations.
