This app is so cool! I've always wanted there to be a hub for all NATURAL remedies and preventative options but l've always had to do loads of digging to find the info I wanted for different natural products. HealisticMD has all the info I need in one place. It gave me various natural supplemental options for a condition I looked up, including what each remedy does and how much is usually recommended to take. It also gave me exact products I could buy for the problem I had looked up. It makes my process SO MUCH easier when I need to find non-pharmaceutical solutions to my needs.

There is a wealth of information on the app! I recently had bloodwork done and found I was deficient in a handful of vitamins and minerals (Vitamin B12, Vitamin D, Iron, etc.) HealisticMD made it simple for me to find out what foods to eat/ supplements I needed to improve these deficiencies. It gives you so many ideas on prevention, natural health tips, where to buy the vitamins, when to take them, why, etc. I love how easy the app is to use too. I am currently working on getting pregnant. I was pleasantly surprised to find compelling data along with supplement suggestions to aid in the process, some of which my fertility doctor wasn’t even aware of. Highly recommend downloading, after all health is one our greatest gifts!

A topical pain relief blend combines multiple natural analgesic compounds into a single cream, gel, or balm applied directly to the painful area. By targeting pain at the source rather than going through the digestive system, these blends can deliver meaningful relief with minimal whole-body side effects. The most well-researched formulas pair ingredients that work through different pathways — cooling agents, warming agents, nerve desensitizers, and plant-based anti-inflammatories — for a broader and longer-lasting effect.
Each ingredient contributes through a different but complementary mechanism. Menthol and camphor activate cold-sensing receptors in the skin, creating a cooling sensation that overrides pain signals — a well-understood process known as counter-irritation. Capsaicin temporarily depletes substance P, the chemical nerve endings use to send pain signals to the brain, reducing pain over time with repeated use. Arnica reduces local inflammation and bruising, while CBD and curcumin calm inflammatory signaling in the surrounding tissue. Together, they create layered relief that addresses both the sensation of pain and its underlying cause.
Cream and gel formulas are the most popular — creams absorb well into muscle tissue while gels feel lighter and cool faster. Balms and salves stay on longer and are preferred for joint pain. Roll-ons and sprays are convenient for hard-to-reach areas. Medicated patches (especially high-concentration capsaicin) offer sustained delivery over 8–12 hours and are sometimes prescribed for neuropathic pain. Oils are used for massage application, which itself enhances penetration.
Humans have applied pain-relieving plants directly to the skin for thousands of years. Ayurvedic medicine developed camphor and turmeric rubs for joint pain. Traditional Chinese medicine used menthol-based liniments for centuries. Native American healers applied arnica poultices to bruises and sprains. European herbalists developed wintergreen-based rubs in the 1800s. Modern clinical research has validated many of these traditional uses and added new compounds like capsaicin and CBD to the toolkit.
