This app is so cool! I've always wanted there to be a hub for all NATURAL remedies and preventative options but l've always had to do loads of digging to find the info I wanted for different natural products. HealisticMD has all the info I need in one place. It gave me various natural supplemental options for a condition I looked up, including what each remedy does and how much is usually recommended to take. It also gave me exact products I could buy for the problem I had looked up. It makes my process SO MUCH easier when I need to find non-pharmaceutical solutions to my needs.

There is a wealth of information on the app! I recently had bloodwork done and found I was deficient in a handful of vitamins and minerals (Vitamin B12, Vitamin D, Iron, etc.) HealisticMD made it simple for me to find out what foods to eat/ supplements I needed to improve these deficiencies. It gives you so many ideas on prevention, natural health tips, where to buy the vitamins, when to take them, why, etc. I love how easy the app is to use too. I am currently working on getting pregnant. I was pleasantly surprised to find compelling data along with supplement suggestions to aid in the process, some of which my fertility doctor wasn’t even aware of. Highly recommend downloading, after all health is one our greatest gifts!

Oxytocin is a hormone your brain naturally releases during positive social moments — a long hug, a genuine laugh with a friend, caring for someone you love. Often called the 'love hormone' or 'bonding hormone,' it plays a central role in trust, generosity, emotional connection, and how calm or anxious you feel day to day. Natural oxytocin enhancement is about consistently creating the right conditions — through touch, connection, nutrition, and lifestyle habits — so your body keeps producing it in healthy amounts.
Oxytocin is made in a part of the brain called the hypothalamus and released both into the bloodstream and throughout the brain itself. It dials down the stress response by quieting the amygdala (the brain's alarm system) and promotes feelings of safety and openness. Certain nutrients like magnesium, zinc, and vitamin D support the pathways that help oxytocin work properly, while regular warm social contact and mindful touch are among the most reliable triggers for its release.
Natural oxytocin enhancement works best as a lifestyle system rather than a single pill. Daily practices include physical affection (hugging, handholding, pet interaction), eye contact, group activities, meditation, yoga, and singing or music. Nutritional support through diet and targeted supplements fills in the gaps. Together these approaches are more effective than any single intervention.
Oxytocin was first identified in 1906 by British pharmacologist Sir Henry Dale, who isolated it from pituitary extracts. Its role in childbirth and breastfeeding was recognized early, but research into its broader social and emotional functions exploded in the 1990s and 2000s. Cultures worldwide have long practiced the behaviors that trigger it — communal meals, touch healing, singing together, and caregiving rituals — without knowing the underlying chemistry.
What it is typically used for, usual dose, cautions, and the study behind it where real trial data exists.
