This app is so cool! I've always wanted there to be a hub for all NATURAL remedies and preventative options but l've always had to do loads of digging to find the info I wanted for different natural products. HealisticMD has all the info I need in one place. It gave me various natural supplemental options for a condition I looked up, including what each remedy does and how much is usually recommended to take. It also gave me exact products I could buy for the problem I had looked up. It makes my process SO MUCH easier when I need to find non-pharmaceutical solutions to my needs.

There is a wealth of information on the app! I recently had bloodwork done and found I was deficient in a handful of vitamins and minerals (Vitamin B12, Vitamin D, Iron, etc.) HealisticMD made it simple for me to find out what foods to eat/ supplements I needed to improve these deficiencies. It gives you so many ideas on prevention, natural health tips, where to buy the vitamins, when to take them, why, etc. I love how easy the app is to use too. I am currently working on getting pregnant. I was pleasantly surprised to find compelling data along with supplement suggestions to aid in the process, some of which my fertility doctor wasn’t even aware of. Highly recommend downloading, after all health is one our greatest gifts!

Maqui berry (Aristotelia chilensis) is a small, intensely dark-purple fruit that grows wild in the temperate rainforests of southern Chile and Patagonia. It holds one of the highest ORAC (oxygen radical absorbance capacity) scores ever recorded for a food — higher than acai, blueberries, or pomegranate. The Mapuche people, the indigenous inhabitants of the region, consumed maqui berries and fermented chicha drinks made from them for endurance, strength, and overall vitality for hundreds of years.
Maqui berry's benefits are driven largely by its exceptionally high concentration of anthocyanins — the same pigments that make blueberries blue and red wine beneficial, but at significantly higher levels. These compounds neutralize free radicals, calm inflammatory pathways, and help the body manage blood sugar more efficiently by supporting enzymes involved in glucose uptake. A specific anthocyanin fraction called delphinidins appears particularly potent for stimulating insulin secretion and protecting the cells lining the eyes and gut from oxidative stress.
Freeze-dried powder and standardized capsule extracts are the most research-backed forms — freeze-drying preserves nearly all the antioxidant content. Juice concentrates exist but often contain added sugars that offset blood sugar benefits. For eye health specifically, studies have used standardized Delphinol extract at low, precise doses.
The Mapuche people of Chile are one of the few indigenous groups to have successfully resisted Spanish colonization for centuries, and maqui berry was a dietary staple tied to their legendary physical endurance. Chicha de maqui (fermented maqui beer) was consumed ceremonially and daily. Modern nutritional science only began characterizing the berry's exceptional antioxidant profile in the 2000s.
What it is typically used for, usual dose, cautions, and the study behind it where real trial data exists.
