This app is so cool! I've always wanted there to be a hub for all NATURAL remedies and preventative options but l've always had to do loads of digging to find the info I wanted for different natural products. HealisticMD has all the info I need in one place. It gave me various natural supplemental options for a condition I looked up, including what each remedy does and how much is usually recommended to take. It also gave me exact products I could buy for the problem I had looked up. It makes my process SO MUCH easier when I need to find non-pharmaceutical solutions to my needs.

There is a wealth of information on the app! I recently had bloodwork done and found I was deficient in a handful of vitamins and minerals (Vitamin B12, Vitamin D, Iron, etc.) HealisticMD made it simple for me to find out what foods to eat/ supplements I needed to improve these deficiencies. It gives you so many ideas on prevention, natural health tips, where to buy the vitamins, when to take them, why, etc. I love how easy the app is to use too. I am currently working on getting pregnant. I was pleasantly surprised to find compelling data along with supplement suggestions to aid in the process, some of which my fertility doctor wasn’t even aware of. Highly recommend downloading, after all health is one our greatest gifts!

Loving-Kindness Meditation (LKM) is a contemplative practice rooted in the Theravada Buddhist tradition, where practitioners repeat gentle phrases — such as 'May you be happy, may you be safe' — first toward themselves, then toward loved ones, neutral people, difficult people, and ultimately all living beings. It is one of the four 'divine abodes' (brahmaviharas) in Buddhist philosophy and has been practiced for over 2,500 years. In modern clinical settings it is often taught alongside mindfulness-based stress reduction (MBSR) and cognitive therapy.
LKM appears to work by activating brain regions tied to positive emotion and social connection — particularly the insula and anterior cingulate cortex — while gradually quieting the threat-detection systems that drive anxiety and self-criticism. Repeating warm phrases toward yourself rewires habitual patterns of self-judgment, and extending that warmth outward builds a felt sense of social belonging. Over time, regular practice shifts your default emotional baseline toward more positive states and greater psychological flexibility.
LKM can be practiced entirely on your own using traditional phrases, or guided through audio recordings, apps (Insight Timer, Ten Percent Happier, Waking Up), or a trained instructor. Sessions range from 10 to 45 minutes. It is also delivered as a structured 8-week program within Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) and Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) curricula. No equipment is needed — just a quiet space and a willingness to sit.
Metta (Pali for 'loving-kindness' or 'benevolence') is described in the Metta Sutta of the Pali Canon, one of the earliest Buddhist texts. It spread through Southeast Asia, Tibet, and East Asia with Buddhism and was introduced to Western clinical psychology in the 1970s–90s alongside mindfulness. Researcher Barbara Fredrickson and colleagues brought LKM into rigorous scientific study in the 2000s, documenting its effects on positive emotion and well-being in landmark trials.
What it is typically used for, usual dose, cautions, and the study behind it where real trial data exists.
