This app is so cool! I've always wanted there to be a hub for all NATURAL remedies and preventative options but l've always had to do loads of digging to find the info I wanted for different natural products. HealisticMD has all the info I need in one place. It gave me various natural supplemental options for a condition I looked up, including what each remedy does and how much is usually recommended to take. It also gave me exact products I could buy for the problem I had looked up. It makes my process SO MUCH easier when I need to find non-pharmaceutical solutions to my needs.

There is a wealth of information on the app! I recently had bloodwork done and found I was deficient in a handful of vitamins and minerals (Vitamin B12, Vitamin D, Iron, etc.) HealisticMD made it simple for me to find out what foods to eat/ supplements I needed to improve these deficiencies. It gives you so many ideas on prevention, natural health tips, where to buy the vitamins, when to take them, why, etc. I love how easy the app is to use too. I am currently working on getting pregnant. I was pleasantly surprised to find compelling data along with supplement suggestions to aid in the process, some of which my fertility doctor wasn’t even aware of. Highly recommend downloading, after all health is one our greatest gifts!

NMN (Nicotinamide Mononucleotide) is a naturally occurring molecule your body uses to make NAD+, a critical fuel that powers almost every cell. Resveratrol is a polyphenol found in red grape skins, berries, and red wine, long studied for its role in activating longevity-linked proteins called sirtuins. Together, they are stacked because NMN raises NAD+ levels while resveratrol appears to help activate the proteins that put NAD+ to work — making the combination more compelling than either alone.
NAD+ levels drop significantly as we age — by middle age many people have roughly half the NAD+ they had in their twenties — and this decline is linked to reduced cellular energy, slower DNA repair, and metabolic decline. NMN replenishes NAD+ by serving as a direct building block. Resveratrol activates a family of proteins called sirtuins (particularly SIRT1), which regulate DNA repair, inflammation, and metabolic efficiency. The pairing matters because sirtuins need NAD+ to function, so raising NAD+ via NMN gives resveratrol-activated sirtuins the fuel they need.
Capsules and powders are most common for NMN; sublingual tablets and liposomal liquids are marketed for faster absorption. Resveratrol is most effective when taken with food containing fat due to its fat-soluble nature. Some products combine both compounds in a single capsule for convenience, while longevity researchers like David Sinclair have popularized taking them separately in the morning with yogurt or whole milk.
This combination became widely known through the work of Harvard aging researcher David Sinclair, whose lab published influential research on NAD+ biology and sirtuin activation starting in the early 2000s. Resveratrol's longevity connection was first highlighted in landmark 2003 research showing it extended lifespan in yeast by activating Sir2 (the yeast version of SIRT1). NMN's rise as a supplement followed subsequent research demonstrating that raising NAD+ in older animals reversed several markers of aging. The stack moved into mainstream longevity circles after Sinclair publicly disclosed taking it himself, spurring a wave of human clinical trials that are now ongoing.
What it is typically used for, usual dose, cautions, and the study behind it where real trial data exists.
