This app is so cool! I've always wanted there to be a hub for all NATURAL remedies and preventative options but l've always had to do loads of digging to find the info I wanted for different natural products. HealisticMD has all the info I need in one place. It gave me various natural supplemental options for a condition I looked up, including what each remedy does and how much is usually recommended to take. It also gave me exact products I could buy for the problem I had looked up. It makes my process SO MUCH easier when I need to find non-pharmaceutical solutions to my needs.

There is a wealth of information on the app! I recently had bloodwork done and found I was deficient in a handful of vitamins and minerals (Vitamin B12, Vitamin D, Iron, etc.) HealisticMD made it simple for me to find out what foods to eat/ supplements I needed to improve these deficiencies. It gives you so many ideas on prevention, natural health tips, where to buy the vitamins, when to take them, why, etc. I love how easy the app is to use too. I am currently working on getting pregnant. I was pleasantly surprised to find compelling data along with supplement suggestions to aid in the process, some of which my fertility doctor wasn’t even aware of. Highly recommend downloading, after all health is one our greatest gifts!

Legundi (Vitex trifolia) is a fast-growing, aromatic shrub that grows wild across coastlines, riverbanks, and tropical forests from India through Southeast Asia to the Pacific Islands. Its leaves, seeds, and roots have been a staple of traditional medicine across multiple cultures for more than a thousand years. In the Philippines, it is so well-regarded that a standardized leaf syrup is officially listed as one of the country's approved herbal medicines by the Department of Health.
Legundi is thought to work through several overlapping pathways. Its flavonoids — especially casticin and luteolin — may quiet overactive inflammatory signals, which could help with both swelling and pain. The leaf's essential oils, particularly 1,8-cineole, are thought to act as a bronchodilator and expectorant, potentially helping to open airways and loosen mucus. Some compounds also appear to interact with the central nervous system in a mild sedative way, which may help explain its traditional use for headaches and anxiety. These proposed mechanisms are based largely on laboratory and preliminary observations rather than confirmed clinical trials.
In the Philippines and Indonesia, the most traditional preparation is a leaf decoction (boiling fresh or dried leaves in water) drunk as a tea. Standardized syrups made from Legundi leaf extract are commercially available in the Philippines as approved cough remedies. Capsule and tablet forms are available as supplements. Topically, crushed leaves are applied as a warm poultice for headaches or joint pain, and the essential oil is used in aromatherapy for congestion.
Legundi appears in Ayurvedic texts under related Vitex species and has been used continuously in Filipino, Indonesian, Malay, and Chinese traditional medicine for respiratory illness, fever, headache, and rheumatic pain. The Philippine Department of Health formally recognized it as an approved herbal medicine in the 1990s for cough and asthma — one of only a small number of plants in Asia to receive such formal national regulatory endorsement.
What it is typically used for, usual dose, cautions, and the study behind it where real trial data exists.
