This app is so cool! I've always wanted there to be a hub for all NATURAL remedies and preventative options but l've always had to do loads of digging to find the info I wanted for different natural products. HealisticMD has all the info I need in one place. It gave me various natural supplemental options for a condition I looked up, including what each remedy does and how much is usually recommended to take. It also gave me exact products I could buy for the problem I had looked up. It makes my process SO MUCH easier when I need to find non-pharmaceutical solutions to my needs.

There is a wealth of information on the app! I recently had bloodwork done and found I was deficient in a handful of vitamins and minerals (Vitamin B12, Vitamin D, Iron, etc.) HealisticMD made it simple for me to find out what foods to eat/ supplements I needed to improve these deficiencies. It gives you so many ideas on prevention, natural health tips, where to buy the vitamins, when to take them, why, etc. I love how easy the app is to use too. I am currently working on getting pregnant. I was pleasantly surprised to find compelling data along with supplement suggestions to aid in the process, some of which my fertility doctor wasn’t even aware of. Highly recommend downloading, after all health is one our greatest gifts!

A gut detox and parasite cleanse is a structured herbal protocol designed to eliminate intestinal parasites (like roundworms, tapeworms, pinworms, and Giardia), reduce overgrowth of harmful bacteria or yeast, and support the body's natural ability to restore a healthy gut environment. These protocols typically combine antiparasitic herbs, bitters, and fiber to clear the gut, followed by probiotics and nutrient-dense foods to rebuild. While the term 'detox' is sometimes overused in wellness marketing, legitimate parasite cleansing has deep roots in every traditional medicine system and is now supported by clinical research on individual herbal compounds.
The herbs used in these protocols work through several everyday mechanisms: some create a hostile environment for parasites by disrupting their ability to feed or reproduce (like wormwood and black walnut hull), some physically paralyze or expel worms from the gut (pumpkin seed, papaya seed), and others break down biofilms — the protective coating that allows parasites and bad bacteria to hide from your immune system (clove, oregano oil). The cleanse is typically phased: first kill off the unwanted organisms, then sweep them out with fiber, then rebuild with probiotics and gut-healing nutrients.
Protocols come as individual herbal supplements taken in sequence, pre-made combination kits (often a 30-day 3-part kit), tinctures for faster absorption, or simple food-based approaches using raw garlic, pumpkin seeds, and papaya. Capsule and tincture forms are most studied for standardized dosing.
Virtually every traditional medicine system developed antiparasitic practices — Ayurveda used neem and vidanga, Traditional Chinese Medicine used quisqualis seed and betel nut, Ancient Egyptians documented antiparasitic remedies on the Ebers Papyrus (circa 1550 BCE), and Indigenous American traditions used black walnut and artemisia species for gut worms. The 'trinity' protocol of black walnut, wormwood, and clove was popularized in modern natural medicine by Dr. Hulda Clark in the 1990s, though each of its components has independent historical and emerging scientific support.
What it is typically used for, usual dose, cautions, and the study behind it where real trial data exists.
