This app is so cool! I've always wanted there to be a hub for all NATURAL remedies and preventative options but l've always had to do loads of digging to find the info I wanted for different natural products. HealisticMD has all the info I need in one place. It gave me various natural supplemental options for a condition I looked up, including what each remedy does and how much is usually recommended to take. It also gave me exact products I could buy for the problem I had looked up. It makes my process SO MUCH easier when I need to find non-pharmaceutical solutions to my needs.

There is a wealth of information on the app! I recently had bloodwork done and found I was deficient in a handful of vitamins and minerals (Vitamin B12, Vitamin D, Iron, etc.) HealisticMD made it simple for me to find out what foods to eat/ supplements I needed to improve these deficiencies. It gives you so many ideas on prevention, natural health tips, where to buy the vitamins, when to take them, why, etc. I love how easy the app is to use too. I am currently working on getting pregnant. I was pleasantly surprised to find compelling data along with supplement suggestions to aid in the process, some of which my fertility doctor wasn’t even aware of. Highly recommend downloading, after all health is one our greatest gifts!

Bobinsana (Calliandra angustifolia) is a small flowering tree that grows along riverbanks throughout the Peruvian, Brazilian, and Ecuadorian Amazon. Its bark and roots are a staple of traditional Amazonian plant medicine, used by healers from multiple Indigenous lineages including Shipibo-Conibo and Shuar communities. It is considered one of the 'master plants' of the upper Amazon — plants used not just for physical ailments but for emotional and spiritual grounding as well.
Bobinsana contains a mix of flavonoids, saponins, and alkaloids that are thought to dampen inflammatory pathways and may support circulation to joints and muscles — which may help explain its traditional reputation for warming cold, stiff bodies. The plant is also thought to act gently on the nervous system; traditional healers have long observed that it opens emotional sensitivity and enhances dream recall. These effects have not been characterized in formal clinical research, but may relate to mild CNS-modulating activity. All proposed mechanisms remain preliminary and are not yet validated by clinical trials.
The most traditional and widely available form is a bark decoction — simmered bark pieces drunk as a daily tea. Commercial preparations include standardized bark powder in capsules and alcohol tinctures. Decoctions prepared from raw bark are considered by traditional practitioners to be the most potent form, though capsules offer convenience for daily supplementation.
Bobinsana has a deep history of use among riverine Indigenous peoples of the upper Amazon, particularly in Peru and Ecuador. It is classified as a 'teacher plant' or 'plant spirit medicine' in Shipibo and related traditions, often used alongside Ayahuasca ceremonies or as a solo dieta plant. Healers have long used it for rheumatism, cold and damp conditions affecting the joints, emotional heaviness, and as a tonic for those recovering from illness. Its use has expanded globally in recent decades through the growth of interest in Amazonian plant medicine.
What it is typically used for, usual dose, cautions, and the study behind it where real trial data exists.
