This app is so cool! I've always wanted there to be a hub for all NATURAL remedies and preventative options but l've always had to do loads of digging to find the info I wanted for different natural products. HealisticMD has all the info I need in one place. It gave me various natural supplemental options for a condition I looked up, including what each remedy does and how much is usually recommended to take. It also gave me exact products I could buy for the problem I had looked up. It makes my process SO MUCH easier when I need to find non-pharmaceutical solutions to my needs.

There is a wealth of information on the app! I recently had bloodwork done and found I was deficient in a handful of vitamins and minerals (Vitamin B12, Vitamin D, Iron, etc.) HealisticMD made it simple for me to find out what foods to eat/ supplements I needed to improve these deficiencies. It gives you so many ideas on prevention, natural health tips, where to buy the vitamins, when to take them, why, etc. I love how easy the app is to use too. I am currently working on getting pregnant. I was pleasantly surprised to find compelling data along with supplement suggestions to aid in the process, some of which my fertility doctor wasn’t even aware of. Highly recommend downloading, after all health is one our greatest gifts!

Bhringraj Oil is an Ayurvedic herbal oil prepared by slow-cooking or cold-infusing the leaves and stems of Eclipta alba (also called False Daisy) in sesame, coconut, or another carrier oil. The plant's active compounds transfer into the oil, creating a potent topical preparation that has been central to Indian hair care for thousands of years. It is one of the most widely used herbal oils in classical Ayurveda, referenced in ancient texts as a premier 'keshya' (hair-promoting) remedy.
Bhringraj's key compounds — particularly wedelolactone, beta-sitosterol, and ursolic acid — are believed to support hair follicle health by stimulating circulation in the scalp, inhibiting 5-alpha reductase (an enzyme linked to androgenic hair loss), and reducing local inflammation that can impair follicle function. The oil base itself (especially sesame) adds barrier protection and deep nourishment to the scalp skin, while regular scalp massage improves blood flow to dormant follicles. Together, these actions help move more hair follicles from the resting phase back into the active growth phase.
Traditional Bhringraj Oil is made by simmering the fresh plant material in sesame oil — a slow, low-heat extraction that preserves active compounds. Commercial versions vary widely in quality depending on extraction method, plant material freshness, and carrier oil used. Sesame-based versions are considered most traditional and may offer additional scalp benefits; coconut-based versions are more widely available and popular for their scent and texture. Some products combine Bhringraj with amla, brahmi, or neem for enhanced effect.
Bhringraj (meaning 'king of hair' in Sanskrit) has been used in Ayurvedic medicine for over 2,000 years and is mentioned in foundational Ayurvedic texts including the Charaka Samhita and Sushruta Samhita. It was traditionally prescribed not only for hair loss but also for liver support, premature graying, skin conditions, and as a rejuvenating (rasayana) herb. Scalp oiling with Bhringraj oil — often as part of Shiroabhyanga (Ayurvedic head massage) — has been a standard weekly self-care ritual in Indian households across generations.
