This app is so cool! I've always wanted there to be a hub for all NATURAL remedies and preventative options but l've always had to do loads of digging to find the info I wanted for different natural products. HealisticMD has all the info I need in one place. It gave me various natural supplemental options for a condition I looked up, including what each remedy does and how much is usually recommended to take. It also gave me exact products I could buy for the problem I had looked up. It makes my process SO MUCH easier when I need to find non-pharmaceutical solutions to my needs.

There is a wealth of information on the app! I recently had bloodwork done and found I was deficient in a handful of vitamins and minerals (Vitamin B12, Vitamin D, Iron, etc.) HealisticMD made it simple for me to find out what foods to eat/ supplements I needed to improve these deficiencies. It gives you so many ideas on prevention, natural health tips, where to buy the vitamins, when to take them, why, etc. I love how easy the app is to use too. I am currently working on getting pregnant. I was pleasantly surprised to find compelling data along with supplement suggestions to aid in the process, some of which my fertility doctor wasn’t even aware of. Highly recommend downloading, after all health is one our greatest gifts!

Arjunarishta is a classical Ayurvedic fermented liquid tonic that has been used in Indian medicine for over 2,000 years, primarily to strengthen the heart and support circulation. It is prepared by fermenting a herbal decoction anchored by the bark of Terminalia arjuna alongside several supporting botanicals including Draksha (dried grapes), Madhuka (Madhuca longifolia flowers), and Dhataki (Woodfordia fruticosa flowers), which also act as the fermentation catalyst. The natural fermentation process creates a small amount of alcohol that acts as a carrier, helping the body absorb the active compounds more efficiently than a plain water extract would.
The main active compounds from Arjuna bark — particularly arjunolic acid and its glycosides, plus a range of flavonoids — appear to strengthen the heart muscle's pumping efficiency, support healthy arterial flexibility, and gently lower blood pressure. These compounds also have antioxidant properties that protect heart tissue from everyday oxidative stress. The fermented format helps the gut absorb these plant chemicals more readily than a dried powder would.
The traditional liquid fermented tonic (arishta) is the classical and most authentic form — typically diluted with an equal volume of water before drinking. Standardized tablets and capsules of Terminalia arjuna extract (often standardized to arjunolic acid content) are a convenient modern alternative and are what most clinical studies have used. The liquid tonic is widely available from Ayurvedic manufacturers; capsule and tablet forms are easier to standardize and dose precisely.
Arjunarishta is documented in foundational Ayurvedic texts including the Ashtanga Hridayam and Charaka Samhita, where the Arjuna tree was specifically described as 'hridaya' — meaning heart-supporting. Named after the legendary archer Arjuna from the Mahabharata (symbolizing strength and valor), the bark has been prescribed for heart weakness, chest pain, and circulatory disorders for at least 2,000 years. It remains one of the most commonly prescribed Ayurvedic cardiac formulas in clinical practice today across India.
What it is typically used for, usual dose, cautions, and the study behind it where real trial data exists.
