This app is so cool! I've always wanted there to be a hub for all NATURAL remedies and preventative options but l've always had to do loads of digging to find the info I wanted for different natural products. HealisticMD has all the info I need in one place. It gave me various natural supplemental options for a condition I looked up, including what each remedy does and how much is usually recommended to take. It also gave me exact products I could buy for the problem I had looked up. It makes my process SO MUCH easier when I need to find non-pharmaceutical solutions to my needs.

There is a wealth of information on the app! I recently had bloodwork done and found I was deficient in a handful of vitamins and minerals (Vitamin B12, Vitamin D, Iron, etc.) HealisticMD made it simple for me to find out what foods to eat/ supplements I needed to improve these deficiencies. It gives you so many ideas on prevention, natural health tips, where to buy the vitamins, when to take them, why, etc. I love how easy the app is to use too. I am currently working on getting pregnant. I was pleasantly surprised to find compelling data along with supplement suggestions to aid in the process, some of which my fertility doctor wasn’t even aware of. Highly recommend downloading, after all health is one our greatest gifts!

Amalaki Rasayana is one of Ayurveda's most revered rejuvenating preparations, built around Amalaki — the Indian Gooseberry (Emblica officinalis) — considered the single most important anti-aging fruit in the entire Ayurvedic pharmacopoeia. Unlike plain amla powder, a true Rasayana preparation traditionally processes the fruit with honey, ghee, sesame oil, and sometimes supportive herbs, which Ayurvedic texts say deepens its therapeutic action and makes its nutrients more bioavailable. It has been used continuously for over 2,000 years and forms the heart of Chyawanprash, the world's oldest and most widely used herbal supplement.
Amalaki is extraordinarily rich in a stable, tannin-bound form of Vitamin C that resists heat degradation far better than synthetic ascorbic acid, meaning it survives processing and digestion unusually well. Its dense portfolio of polyphenols — including emblicanins, gallic acid, and ellagic acid — work together to neutralize free radicals, calm low-grade inflammation, and support the body's own antioxidant enzymes. Rasayana preparations are believed to work more deeply than isolated extracts because the fat and honey carriers help fat-soluble phytonutrients cross cell membranes and reach tissues more efficiently.
The most traditional form is the hand-processed paste or jam consumed with warm milk or water. Modern supplements come as standardized capsules or tablets — look for products standardized to total tannins or emblicanin content. Powder mixed into warm water or milk closely mirrors traditional use. Liquid extracts offer convenience but vary widely in standardization.
Amalaki is mentioned in the Charaka Samhita and Sushruta Samhita — the foundational Ayurvedic texts written roughly 1,000–600 BCE — as the single best herb for Rasayana therapy, meaning rejuvenation and longevity. The legendary sage Chyawan is said to have used it to restore his youth, giving rise to Chyawanprash. It is also revered in Tibetan and Unani medicine, making it one of the most cross-culturally validated herbal treatments in the world.
