Sore for days after light exercise
You took a short walk, or lifted a few boxes. Two or three days later, your legs and arms still ache. The effort felt easy at the time, so the soreness seems out of step with it.
Some soreness after moving is normal. It often peaks a day or so later, then fades. When it drags on for days after mild effort, your body may be slow to mend itself.
Muscle cells rebuild after you use them. That work needs sleep, water, protein and time. Age, stress, poor sleep, low iron, thyroid trouble or a new drug can all slow the pace.
When to see someone
See a doctor if the pain is sharp, or one leg swells, or you feel a hard lump. Dark brown pee, deep weakness or fever after mild work needs same-day care. Call also if the aches began with a new pill, or last more than two weeks.
Below is a list of traditional and natural remedies linked to cell repair. Each one carries a grade for how strong the research behind it is. A high grade means better studies exist, not that it will do something for you.
