Helps

What does Zinc lozenges help with? Common cold duration: This is where zinc lozenges have the strongest evidence. Starting lozenges within the first 24 hours of noticing symptoms can cut how long a cold lasts — sometimes by a day or two. The trick is acting fast; they work best as an early intervention, not a treatment for a cold already in full swing. Sore throat and throat inflammation: The zinc ions released directly in the throat can help soothe rawness and reduce the local irritation that makes swallowing painful. Many people report noticeable throat relief within the first day of use, likely because zinc is calming the inflammatory response right where it's happening. Early cold and flu symptoms: Zinc lozenges are most effective when started at the very first hint of a cold — that tell-tale scratch in the throat or the beginning of a runny nose. Early use gives zinc ions the best chance to block viral attachment before the infection fully establishes itself. Nasal congestion from colds: Some trials found that people using zinc lozenges experienced less severe nasal congestion compared to placebo users. The effect is thought to be part of zinc's broader anti-inflammatory and antiviral action during the early stages of infection. Runny nose relief: Runny nose is often reduced in duration and severity when zinc lozenges are started early. This symptom responds to the same mechanism — zinc's ability to slow down rhinovirus replication in the upper respiratory tract. Cough associated with cold: Cough linked to a cold may resolve faster when zinc lozenges shorten the overall illness. A shorter cold means fewer days of throat irritation and post-nasal drip, which are often the root causes of the lingering cold cough. Immune support during illness: Zinc is essential for a well-functioning immune system, and when you're sick, your body burns through it faster than usual. Lozenges provide both local antiviral action and contribute to overall zinc status during the heightened demand of an active infection. Cold symptoms in adults: The strongest clinical results have come from adult populations. Zinc lozenges appear to benefit adults across age groups, with older adults potentially gaining the most because zinc deficiency becomes more common with age and blunts immune response.

This app is so cool! I've always wanted there to be a hub for all NATURAL remedies and preventative options but l've always had to do loads of digging to find the info I wanted for different natural products. HealisticMD has all the info I need in one place. It gave me various natural supplemental options for a condition I looked up, including what each remedy does and how much is usually recommended to take. It also gave me exact products I could buy for the problem I had looked up. It makes my process SO MUCH easier when I need to find non-pharmaceutical solutions to my needs.

There is a wealth of information on the app! I recently had bloodwork done and found I was deficient in a handful of vitamins and minerals (Vitamin B12, Vitamin D, Iron, etc.) HealisticMD made it simple for me to find out what foods to eat/ supplements I needed to improve these deficiencies. It gives you so many ideas on prevention, natural health tips, where to buy the vitamins, when to take them, why, etc. I love how easy the app is to use too. I am currently working on getting pregnant. I was pleasantly surprised to find compelling data along with supplement suggestions to aid in the process, some of which my fertility doctor wasn’t even aware of. Highly recommend downloading, after all health is one our greatest gifts!
