This app is so cool! I've always wanted there to be a hub for all NATURAL remedies and preventative options but l've always had to do loads of digging to find the info I wanted for different natural products. HealisticMD has all the info I need in one place. It gave me various natural supplemental options for a condition I looked up, including what each remedy does and how much is usually recommended to take. It also gave me exact products I could buy for the problem I had looked up. It makes my process SO MUCH easier when I need to find non-pharmaceutical solutions to my needs.

There is a wealth of information on the app! I recently had bloodwork done and found I was deficient in a handful of vitamins and minerals (Vitamin B12, Vitamin D, Iron, etc.) HealisticMD made it simple for me to find out what foods to eat/ supplements I needed to improve these deficiencies. It gives you so many ideas on prevention, natural health tips, where to buy the vitamins, when to take them, why, etc. I love how easy the app is to use too. I am currently working on getting pregnant. I was pleasantly surprised to find compelling data along with supplement suggestions to aid in the process, some of which my fertility doctor wasn’t even aware of. Highly recommend downloading, after all health is one our greatest gifts!

Tamanu oil is extracted from the dried nuts of the Calophyllum inophyllum tree, a tropical evergreen native to Southeast Asia and widely cultivated across the Pacific Islands, Madagascar, and parts of Africa. The oil has an unusually rich, complex chemistry that sets it apart from most plant oils — it contains rare coumarins, xanthones, and anti-inflammatory compounds not commonly found together in a single natural source. Pacific Island healers have used it for centuries to treat everything from infected wounds and leprous sores to joint pain and skin diseases.
Tamanu oil works through several pathways at once. Its key compound, calophyllolide, has strong anti-inflammatory properties that help calm irritated or damaged skin. The oil also actively promotes new cell growth and collagen production, which supports wound closure and scar fading. Its antimicrobial compounds help prevent infection in compromised skin, while its fatty acid profile deeply moisturizes and reinforces the skin barrier.
Pure cold-pressed tamanu oil is the most potent and most studied form — look for dark green color and a characteristic nutty, slightly smoky scent as signs of quality. It can be applied directly to skin or blended with lighter carrier oils like jojoba or rosehip to reduce its thick texture. Cream and serum formulations are more convenient for daily face use. Balms and salves are best for concentrated wound or scar treatment.
Tamanu oil holds a revered place in Pacific Island healing traditions — in Polynesia it was called 'sacred oil' and used by healers to treat wounds, skin diseases, and nerve pain. French researchers first documented its wound-healing properties in the 1940s in Madagascar, sparking early scientific interest that has grown steadily since. It remains a cornerstone of traditional medicine in Fiji, Samoa, Tahiti, and across coastal Southeast Asia.
