This app is so cool! I've always wanted there to be a hub for all NATURAL remedies and preventative options but l've always had to do loads of digging to find the info I wanted for different natural products. HealisticMD has all the info I need in one place. It gave me various natural supplemental options for a condition I looked up, including what each remedy does and how much is usually recommended to take. It also gave me exact products I could buy for the problem I had looked up. It makes my process SO MUCH easier when I need to find non-pharmaceutical solutions to my needs.

There is a wealth of information on the app! I recently had bloodwork done and found I was deficient in a handful of vitamins and minerals (Vitamin B12, Vitamin D, Iron, etc.) HealisticMD made it simple for me to find out what foods to eat/ supplements I needed to improve these deficiencies. It gives you so many ideas on prevention, natural health tips, where to buy the vitamins, when to take them, why, etc. I love how easy the app is to use too. I am currently working on getting pregnant. I was pleasantly surprised to find compelling data along with supplement suggestions to aid in the process, some of which my fertility doctor wasn’t even aware of. Highly recommend downloading, after all health is one our greatest gifts!

Shilajit is a sticky, blackish-brown mineral resin that oozes from rock crevices in the Himalayas, Altai, Caucasus, and other mountain ranges, formed over millennia by the slow decomposition of plant matter. Known as 'Mumijo' across Central Asia and Eastern Europe, it has been a cornerstone of Ayurvedic medicine for over 3,000 years, revered as a substance that could arrest aging, restore vitality, and amplify the effects of other herbs. The dried resin is rich in fulvic acid, humic compounds, and a dense spectrum of bioavailable trace minerals.
Fulvic acid, the standout active compound, acts as a potent carrier molecule that helps cells absorb nutrients and minerals more efficiently while also supporting mitochondrial energy production. Shilajit appears to support testosterone levels partly by stimulating the production of luteinizing hormone (LH), which signals the testes to produce more testosterone. Its antioxidant and anti-inflammatory compounds also help protect cells from oxidative damage, which is especially useful during physical stress or at high altitude.
Purified resin dissolved in warm water or milk is the traditional delivery method and widely considered the most bioavailable form. Standardized capsules and tablets (look for those standardized to at least 50% fulvic acid) are the most convenient option. Avoid raw, unpurified shilajit — it can contain heavy metals, free radicals, and fungal contaminants. Reputable brands will carry third-party heavy metal testing certificates.
Used in Ayurveda for over 3,000 years under the name 'Shilajatu' (meaning 'rock-invincible'), it appears extensively in classical texts like Charaka Samhita as a treatment for weakness, urinary disorders, diabetes, and aging. Independently, Central Asian, Persian, and Siberian healers used the same substance under the name 'Mumijo' to heal fractures, boost immunity, and increase stamina — a remarkable cross-cultural convergence suggesting genuine observed benefits long before modern science.
What it is typically used for, usual dose, cautions, and the study behind it where real trial data exists.
