This app is so cool! I've always wanted there to be a hub for all NATURAL remedies and preventative options but l've always had to do loads of digging to find the info I wanted for different natural products. HealisticMD has all the info I need in one place. It gave me various natural supplemental options for a condition I looked up, including what each remedy does and how much is usually recommended to take. It also gave me exact products I could buy for the problem I had looked up. It makes my process SO MUCH easier when I need to find non-pharmaceutical solutions to my needs.

There is a wealth of information on the app! I recently had bloodwork done and found I was deficient in a handful of vitamins and minerals (Vitamin B12, Vitamin D, Iron, etc.) HealisticMD made it simple for me to find out what foods to eat/ supplements I needed to improve these deficiencies. It gives you so many ideas on prevention, natural health tips, where to buy the vitamins, when to take them, why, etc. I love how easy the app is to use too. I am currently working on getting pregnant. I was pleasantly surprised to find compelling data along with supplement suggestions to aid in the process, some of which my fertility doctor wasn’t even aware of. Highly recommend downloading, after all health is one our greatest gifts!

Ren Shen Bai Du San is a classical Chinese herbal formula first recorded in the Song Dynasty text 'Tai Ping Hui Min He Ji Ju Fang' (1107 CE). It is composed of twelve herbs working together to expel wind, cold, and dampness from the exterior of the body while simultaneously supporting qi (vital energy) to help the immune system fight off illness. It is one of the most widely used traditional formulas for early-stage colds, flu, and respiratory infections throughout East Asia.
The formula works by releasing the body's exterior defenses — pushing pathogenic influences outward — while the ginseng component prevents the herbs from depleting vital energy in the process. Several herbs like Qiang Huo and Du Huo target wind-cold-damp patterns associated with body aches, chills, and stiff neck, while Jie Geng and Zhi Ke open and ventilate the lungs to ease congestion and cough. Modern research suggests these herbs carry anti-inflammatory, antiviral, and immune-modulating properties that align with their traditional uses.
Traditional decoction brewed from raw herbs remains the gold standard in clinical TCM practice. Modern convenient forms include instant granules (dissolved in hot water), capsules, and tablets — all widely available in East Asian patent medicine brands. Granules are the most common form used in modern TCM clinics outside Asia.
Originally recorded in the Song Dynasty (960–1279 CE), this formula has been continuously used in China, Japan (as Ninjin-baido-san in Kampo medicine), Korea, and across Southeast Asia for over 900 years. It gained particular prominence for managing epidemic febrile diseases and remains a cornerstone formula in TCM for what practitioners call 'Qi-deficient exterior patterns' — meaning illness in someone whose immune reserves are low.
What it is typically used for, usual dose, cautions, and the study behind it where real trial data exists.
