This app is so cool! I've always wanted there to be a hub for all NATURAL remedies and preventative options but l've always had to do loads of digging to find the info I wanted for different natural products. HealisticMD has all the info I need in one place. It gave me various natural supplemental options for a condition I looked up, including what each remedy does and how much is usually recommended to take. It also gave me exact products I could buy for the problem I had looked up. It makes my process SO MUCH easier when I need to find non-pharmaceutical solutions to my needs.

There is a wealth of information on the app! I recently had bloodwork done and found I was deficient in a handful of vitamins and minerals (Vitamin B12, Vitamin D, Iron, etc.) HealisticMD made it simple for me to find out what foods to eat/ supplements I needed to improve these deficiencies. It gives you so many ideas on prevention, natural health tips, where to buy the vitamins, when to take them, why, etc. I love how easy the app is to use too. I am currently working on getting pregnant. I was pleasantly surprised to find compelling data along with supplement suggestions to aid in the process, some of which my fertility doctor wasn’t even aware of. Highly recommend downloading, after all health is one our greatest gifts!

Ood-e-Hindi is the dried root of Saussurea costus (also known as Saussurea lappa), a tall perennial herb native to the high-altitude valleys of Kashmir and the northwestern Himalayas. It holds a cherished place in Ayurveda as 'Kushtha,' in Unani medicine as 'Qust al-Hindi,' and is referenced prominently in Hadith literature as a recommended remedy. The root has a warm, earthy, slightly bitter aroma and has been traded along ancient spice routes for millennia.
The root's primary active compounds — costunolide and dehydrocostus lactone — are sesquiterpene lactones that are thought to help calm inflammatory pathways in the body, potentially making tissues less reactive to irritants and allergens. These same compounds may relax smooth muscle in the bronchi and gut, which may help explain its traditional use for both wheezing and cramps. Inulin content is also thought to act as a prebiotic, potentially feeding beneficial gut bacteria and supporting digestive balance.
Powder (churna) mixed with honey or warm water is the most traditional form and is commonly used in both Ayurvedic and Unani practice. Decoctions are used for respiratory and digestive complaints. Capsules standardized to sesquiterpene lactone content offer a convenient modern option. Topical paste or diluted essential oil is applied for joint pain and skin conditions. Fumigation with the root was historically used to clear respiratory passages.
Ood-e-Hindi has one of the most geographically wide-ranging histories of any Himalayan herb. It appears in ancient Sanskrit Ayurvedic texts as Kushtha — one of the forty great herbs. Arab traders carried it along maritime and overland spice routes to Persia and the Middle East, where Unani physicians adopted it as Qust al-Hindi. The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) is reported in authenticated Hadith to have recommended Qust al-Hindi and Qust al-Bahri for respiratory ailments in children, cementing its revered place in Islamic traditional medicine. It was also used in ancient Greece and Rome as an aromatic and medicinal spice.
