This app is so cool! I've always wanted there to be a hub for all NATURAL remedies and preventative options but l've always had to do loads of digging to find the info I wanted for different natural products. HealisticMD has all the info I need in one place. It gave me various natural supplemental options for a condition I looked up, including what each remedy does and how much is usually recommended to take. It also gave me exact products I could buy for the problem I had looked up. It makes my process SO MUCH easier when I need to find non-pharmaceutical solutions to my needs.

There is a wealth of information on the app! I recently had bloodwork done and found I was deficient in a handful of vitamins and minerals (Vitamin B12, Vitamin D, Iron, etc.) HealisticMD made it simple for me to find out what foods to eat/ supplements I needed to improve these deficiencies. It gives you so many ideas on prevention, natural health tips, where to buy the vitamins, when to take them, why, etc. I love how easy the app is to use too. I am currently working on getting pregnant. I was pleasantly surprised to find compelling data along with supplement suggestions to aid in the process, some of which my fertility doctor wasn’t even aware of. Highly recommend downloading, after all health is one our greatest gifts!

Nirgundi Taila is a traditional Ayurvedic medicated oil prepared by simmering the leaves, roots, and bark of Vitex negundo in a sesame oil base, often with additional herbs like Rasna and Devadaru. The resulting oil is thought to concentrate the plant's pain-relieving and anti-inflammatory compounds in a carrier that may penetrate the skin. It has been a cornerstone of Ayurvedic panchakarma therapy and everyday pain management for over 2,000 years.
When massaged into the skin, the oil is thought to deliver active flavonoids like vitexin and casticin that may help calm inflammatory pathways and reduce swelling in the underlying tissues. The sesame oil base itself is traditionally considered to have anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties, and may help carry Nirgundi compounds into muscle and joint tissue. The combined effect is believed to ease stiffness, reduce nerve irritation, and improve local circulation, though these mechanisms have not been confirmed in rigorous clinical trials.
Nirgundi Taila is almost exclusively used as a topical medicated oil — massaged into painful joints, muscles, or the lower back. In clinical Ayurvedic settings it may also be used as a nasal (nasya) preparation for headaches. Pre-packaged versions from GMP-certified Ayurvedic manufacturers are the most consistent and widely available form.
Nirgundi (Vitex negundo) is mentioned in foundational Ayurvedic texts including the Charaka Samhita and Sushruta Samhita as one of the most important pain-relieving and anti-inflammatory plants in the materia medica. The medicated oil form was developed to maximize topical delivery and is still prepared in traditional Ayurvedic pharmacies today using methods largely unchanged for centuries. It is widely used across South Asia, Southeast Asia, and Sri Lanka.
What it is typically used for, usual dose, cautions, and the study behind it where real trial data exists.
