This app is so cool! I've always wanted there to be a hub for all NATURAL remedies and preventative options but l've always had to do loads of digging to find the info I wanted for different natural products. HealisticMD has all the info I need in one place. It gave me various natural supplemental options for a condition I looked up, including what each remedy does and how much is usually recommended to take. It also gave me exact products I could buy for the problem I had looked up. It makes my process SO MUCH easier when I need to find non-pharmaceutical solutions to my needs.

There is a wealth of information on the app! I recently had bloodwork done and found I was deficient in a handful of vitamins and minerals (Vitamin B12, Vitamin D, Iron, etc.) HealisticMD made it simple for me to find out what foods to eat/ supplements I needed to improve these deficiencies. It gives you so many ideas on prevention, natural health tips, where to buy the vitamins, when to take them, why, etc. I love how easy the app is to use too. I am currently working on getting pregnant. I was pleasantly surprised to find compelling data along with supplement suggestions to aid in the process, some of which my fertility doctor wasn’t even aware of. Highly recommend downloading, after all health is one our greatest gifts!

This blend combines three time-honored calming botanicals — sweet marjoram, lavender, and cedarwood — each chosen for its own sedative and relaxing properties, and all three working together to create a stronger sleep effect than any one alone. Lavender is the most studied natural sleep aid in aromatherapy, marjoram brings its own unique calming compounds that complement lavender beautifully, and cedarwood adds a warm, grounding quality that helps quiet a busy mind. Used in a diffuser at bedtime or applied to pulse points in a diluted roll-on, this blend has become a popular go-to in both home and clinical wellness settings.
When you inhale these essential oil compounds, they interact with scent receptors in your nose that send direct signals to the brain's limbic system — the region that controls mood, memory, and the stress response. Key compounds like linalool from lavender and cedrol from cedarwood appear to gently calm nervous system activity, reducing the alerting signals that keep you awake. Marjoram's terpinen-4-ol adds a mild muscle-relaxing quality that helps your body physically unwind alongside your mind.
Diffusion is the most evidence-supported method — ultrasonic diffusers disperse micro-particles into the air for consistent inhalation throughout the night or during a wind-down routine. Topical application (always diluted 2–3% in a carrier oil like jojoba or fractionated coconut oil) on wrists, temples, or the back of the neck works well for portable use. Pillow sprays are convenient but deliver less consistent exposure. Bath soaks with a dispersant can combine aromatherapy with physical relaxation. Inhalation inhalers offer a travel-friendly option.
Lavender has been used for sleep and calm since ancient Rome and Egypt. Sweet marjoram was sacred to Aphrodite in Greek tradition and used as a sleep herb by ancient Greeks and Romans who placed it on the pillows of the dying to bring peaceful dreams. Cedarwood oil from Atlas cedar has been used in North African and Middle Eastern traditions for centuries as a grounding, meditative scent. The deliberate blending of these three for clinical sleep support reflects modern aromatherapy practice, but each ingredient has hundreds of years of independent use behind it.
What it is typically used for, usual dose, cautions, and the study behind it where real trial data exists.
