Helps

What does Hesperidin (from orange extract) help with? Leg swelling and chronic venous insufficiency: Hesperidin helps tighten and strengthen the walls of veins and small capillaries, reducing the leakiness that causes fluid to pool in the legs. This leads to noticeably less swelling, heaviness, and aching, particularly after long periods of standing or sitting. The hesperidin-diosmin combination has the most clinical backing for this use. Varicose veins: By improving the tone and integrity of vein walls and valves, hesperidin helps reduce the pressure and backflow that worsen varicose veins over time. Regular use can help ease the discomfort and visible appearance of varicose veins, though it works best as part of a broader approach that includes movement and compression. Hemorrhoids: Hesperidin, especially combined with diosmin, is one of the better-studied natural treatments for hemorrhoids. It helps shrink swollen tissue, reduce bleeding, and relieve pain more quickly after a flare-up. Several clinical trials in Europe have used it as a standard comparison treatment. High blood pressure: Studies show hesperidin can modestly lower systolic blood pressure, likely by relaxing blood vessel walls and improving how well blood flows through smaller vessels. The effect is meaningful but mild — best seen as a complement to lifestyle changes, not a standalone treatment. Poor circulation: Hesperidin improves microcirculation — the flow of blood through your smallest vessels — which can help with cold hands and feet, numbness, and the general sluggishness of poor peripheral circulation. It does this by reducing inflammation in vessel walls and improving their responsiveness. Lymphedema: The hesperidin-diosmin combination has shown benefit in reducing lymphedema (fluid buildup due to lymphatic blockage), particularly in patients recovering from cancer treatment. It appears to support lymphatic drainage and reduce tissue swelling. Menopausal hot flashes: Some clinical trials have found that citrus bioflavonoid blends including hesperidin can reduce the frequency and intensity of hot flashes in menopausal women. The effect is modest but meaningful for women seeking non-hormonal options. Seasonal allergies: Hesperidin has mild natural antihistamine and anti-inflammatory properties that can take the edge off allergy symptoms like nasal congestion and itching. It is not as powerful as pharmaceutical antihistamines but can support a gentler approach to seasonal allergy management. High cholesterol: Some studies suggest hesperidin can modestly lower LDL cholesterol and triglycerides while nudging HDL (good cholesterol) upward. The effect sizes are small, but for people already eating well, hesperidin may offer an additional nudge in the right direction. General antioxidant and immune support: Hesperidin is a potent free-radical scavenger that helps protect cells from the kind of oxidative damage linked to aging and chronic disease. It also has mild immune-modulating properties, supporting the body's natural defenses without overstimulating them.

This app is so cool! I've always wanted there to be a hub for all NATURAL remedies and preventative options but l've always had to do loads of digging to find the info I wanted for different natural products. HealisticMD has all the info I need in one place. It gave me various natural supplemental options for a condition I looked up, including what each remedy does and how much is usually recommended to take. It also gave me exact products I could buy for the problem I had looked up. It makes my process SO MUCH easier when I need to find non-pharmaceutical solutions to my needs.

There is a wealth of information on the app! I recently had bloodwork done and found I was deficient in a handful of vitamins and minerals (Vitamin B12, Vitamin D, Iron, etc.) HealisticMD made it simple for me to find out what foods to eat/ supplements I needed to improve these deficiencies. It gives you so many ideas on prevention, natural health tips, where to buy the vitamins, when to take them, why, etc. I love how easy the app is to use too. I am currently working on getting pregnant. I was pleasantly surprised to find compelling data along with supplement suggestions to aid in the process, some of which my fertility doctor wasn’t even aware of. Highly recommend downloading, after all health is one our greatest gifts!
