This app is so cool! I've always wanted there to be a hub for all NATURAL remedies and preventative options but l've always had to do loads of digging to find the info I wanted for different natural products. HealisticMD has all the info I need in one place. It gave me various natural supplemental options for a condition I looked up, including what each remedy does and how much is usually recommended to take. It also gave me exact products I could buy for the problem I had looked up. It makes my process SO MUCH easier when I need to find non-pharmaceutical solutions to my needs.

There is a wealth of information on the app! I recently had bloodwork done and found I was deficient in a handful of vitamins and minerals (Vitamin B12, Vitamin D, Iron, etc.) HealisticMD made it simple for me to find out what foods to eat/ supplements I needed to improve these deficiencies. It gives you so many ideas on prevention, natural health tips, where to buy the vitamins, when to take them, why, etc. I love how easy the app is to use too. I am currently working on getting pregnant. I was pleasantly surprised to find compelling data along with supplement suggestions to aid in the process, some of which my fertility doctor wasn’t even aware of. Highly recommend downloading, after all health is one our greatest gifts!

Goji berries are small, bright-red dried fruits from the Lycium barbarum shrub native to northwestern China, Tibet, and surrounding regions. They have been a cornerstone of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) for more than two millennia, prized as a longevity food that nourishes the liver, kidneys, and eyes. Today they are widely consumed as a superfood snack and are available in whole dried, juice, powder, and capsule forms.
Goji berries are exceptionally rich in zeaxanthin and lutein — two carotenoids that concentrate in the macula of the eye and protect against light-induced damage. Their signature Lycium barbarum polysaccharides (LBPs) help support immune cell activity, healthy blood sugar response, and natural antioxidant defenses throughout the body. The berries also supply betaine, which supports liver health and helps regulate homocysteine levels in the blood.
Dried whole berries are the most traditional and commonly used form — easy to eat as a snack, added to oatmeal, smoothies, or teas. Juice and liquid extracts offer higher polysaccharide concentration in smaller volume. Capsule and tablet standardized extracts (often standardized to LBP content) are useful when precise dosing is needed. Powder blends well into smoothies or yogurt. For eye health specifically, standardized extracts with confirmed zeaxanthin levels are preferred.
In TCM, goji (Gou Qi Zi) has been documented in classic texts including the Shennong Bencao Jing (circa 200 AD) and is classified as a premier tonic herb that 'brightens the eyes, nourishes yin, and replenishes jing (vital essence).' It has been cultivated in the Ningxia and Xinjiang regions of China for over a thousand years and is still considered one of the most important longevity herbs in Chinese herbal medicine.
