This app is so cool! I've always wanted there to be a hub for all NATURAL remedies and preventative options but l've always had to do loads of digging to find the info I wanted for different natural products. HealisticMD has all the info I need in one place. It gave me various natural supplemental options for a condition I looked up, including what each remedy does and how much is usually recommended to take. It also gave me exact products I could buy for the problem I had looked up. It makes my process SO MUCH easier when I need to find non-pharmaceutical solutions to my needs.

There is a wealth of information on the app! I recently had bloodwork done and found I was deficient in a handful of vitamins and minerals (Vitamin B12, Vitamin D, Iron, etc.) HealisticMD made it simple for me to find out what foods to eat/ supplements I needed to improve these deficiencies. It gives you so many ideas on prevention, natural health tips, where to buy the vitamins, when to take them, why, etc. I love how easy the app is to use too. I am currently working on getting pregnant. I was pleasantly surprised to find compelling data along with supplement suggestions to aid in the process, some of which my fertility doctor wasn’t even aware of. Highly recommend downloading, after all health is one our greatest gifts!

Cantharis is a classical homeopathic remedy prepared from the dried body of the Spanish fly beetle (Lytta vesicatoria), a bright green beetle found across southern Europe and parts of Asia. In its crude form, cantharidin — the beetle's active compound — is a potent and dangerous vesicant (blister-causing agent). In homeopathic preparation, the substance undergoes extreme dilution and succussion, so no pharmacologically active cantharidin remains. Homeopaths have used Cantharis for over 200 years as one of their primary remedies for intense burning pain, particularly in the urinary tract.
From a homeopathic framework, Cantharis works on the principle of 'like cures like' — because crude cantharidin causes burning, blistering, and urinary irritation, it is believed in homeopathic tradition to stimulate the body's own healing response to those same sensations when given in extreme dilution. Modern science does not confirm a pharmacological mechanism in homeopathic dilutions (30C and above contain no detectable cantharidin molecules). Any observed benefit is debated, with some researchers attributing it to a placebo response and others exploring homeopathy's poorly understood mechanisms.
Available as sugar pellets (most common homeopathic form), liquid drops, and occasionally topical gels formulated for burns. Potencies vary — 6C and 30C are the most common over-the-counter options for urinary and skin symptoms. Higher potencies (200C, 1M) are used by homeopathic practitioners for more constitutional or chronic applications.
Cantharis has one of the longest — and most notorious — histories in medicine. Ancient Greeks and Romans used crude Spanish fly as an aphrodisiac and medicinal agent, a use that persisted dangerously into the 18th and 19th centuries. Samuel Hahnemann, the founder of homeopathy, included Cantharis as a core remedy in his Materia Medica Pura in the early 1800s, recognizing the symptom pattern of burning and urinary urgency. The crude form was also historically — and dangerously — misused as an aphrodisiac, causing numerous poisoning deaths. Homeopathic Cantharis remains one of the most prescribed homeopathic remedies for acute cystitis worldwide.
