Lose my words mid sentence
You start a sentence. Halfway through, the next word is just gone. You can picture the thing you mean, but the name for it will not come.
People with ME/CFS often call this brain fog. It can show up as slow thinking, a lost train of thought, or the wrong word slipping out. It often gets worse after a busy day, a hard talk, or a poor night.
Pain, broken sleep, low mood, and some medicines can add to it. Stress and noise can make it harder to hold a thought. This is a real and tiring problem, and you are not imagining it.
When to see someone
Get help right away if your speech slurs, your face droops, or one arm goes weak all of a sudden. That can be a stroke. Book a doctor visit if word loss grows worse month by month, if you get lost in places you know well, or if you cannot follow a short chat.
Below is a list of remedies that people with ME/CFS have used. Each one carries a grade that shows how strong the research is, not a promise of results. Ask your doctor first, since some remedies clash with medicines.
