Greenish fluid leaking from nipple
You notice a green or dark green drop on your bra. It may come out when you squeeze the nipple. Sometimes it shows up on its own.
Fluid like this comes from the ducts in the breast. Ducts are the small tubes that carry milk. Old fluid can sit in a wide duct and turn green, gray, or brown.
Lumpy, tender breast tissue often goes along with it. The leak may come and go for months. Green fluid is common, but a new leak is worth showing your doctor.
When to see someone
Get checked if the fluid is bloody, pink, or clear, or if it starts after menopause. See a doctor for a new hard lump, dimpled skin, or a nipple that pulls in. A red, hot, swollen breast with fever also needs care.
Below are remedies people have used for fibrocystic breasts, which means lumpy breast tissue. Each one has a grade for how strong the research behind it is. Grades rate the evidence only, so talk with your doctor before you try one.
