Can't turn my head after a crash
You were in a crash. Now your neck feels locked up. Turning to check a blind spot hurts, or just will not happen.
This is often called whiplash. Your head snapped forward and back fast. That stretches the muscles and soft tissue in your neck past their normal range.
Stiffness often shows up hours or even a day later. You may also feel a dull ache, a headache at the base of your skull, or sore shoulders. Many people feel worse on day two than they did at the scene.
When to see someone
Get help right away if you feel numbness, tingling, or weakness in an arm or hand. The same goes for a bad headache, blurred vision, slurred speech, trouble walking, or loss of bladder control. See a doctor if you blacked out, or if the pain is no better in a week.
Below are remedies people have long used after whiplash. Each one carries a grade showing how much research exists on it. A grade is not a promise of results, so talk with your doctor before you try anything.
