Burping and bloated all the time
You burp after most meals, and sometimes between them. Your belly feels full and tight, even when you have not eaten much. The gas seems to build right back up as soon as it clears.
Many things can bring this on. Eating fast, fizzy drinks, straws, and gum all make you swallow air. Some foods make extra gas as they break down in the gut.
Gas and fullness can also start in the stomach lining. One known cause is a germ called H.
pylori. It can live in the stomach for years and may leave the lining sore and slow to empty.
When to see someone
Book a doctor visit if you are losing weight without trying, or if food sticks when you swallow. Black or tar-like stools, or vomit that looks like coffee grounds, need care the same day. Get checked too if you keep vomiting, feel full after a few bites, or have pain that wakes you at night.
Below is a list of traditional and home remedies people have used for this complaint. Each one carries an evidence grade. The grade tells you how much solid research exists, not that the remedy will do anything for you.
