This app is so cool! I've always wanted there to be a hub for all NATURAL remedies and preventative options but l've always had to do loads of digging to find the info I wanted for different natural products. HealisticMD has all the info I need in one place. It gave me various natural supplemental options for a condition I looked up, including what each remedy does and how much is usually recommended to take. It also gave me exact products I could buy for the problem I had looked up. It makes my process SO MUCH easier when I need to find non-pharmaceutical solutions to my needs.

There is a wealth of information on the app! I recently had bloodwork done and found I was deficient in a handful of vitamins and minerals (Vitamin B12, Vitamin D, Iron, etc.) HealisticMD made it simple for me to find out what foods to eat/ supplements I needed to improve these deficiencies. It gives you so many ideas on prevention, natural health tips, where to buy the vitamins, when to take them, why, etc. I love how easy the app is to use too. I am currently working on getting pregnant. I was pleasantly surprised to find compelling data along with supplement suggestions to aid in the process, some of which my fertility doctor wasn’t even aware of. Highly recommend downloading, after all health is one our greatest gifts!

A turmeric face mask is a topical skin care preparation using ground turmeric root (Curcuma longa) as its primary active ingredient, often combined with carriers like raw honey, plain yogurt, coconut oil, or gram flour. It has been used for centuries in South Asian beauty rituals — most famously in the Indian bridal tradition known as the 'haldi ceremony' — and is now widely embraced globally as a natural skin treatment. The mask is applied to the face for 10–20 minutes, then rinsed off, delivering concentrated curcuminoids directly to the skin surface.
Curcumin, turmeric's main active compound, works on skin by blocking certain enzymes and signals that drive inflammation and redness, which is why it can calm breakouts and irritated patches so effectively. It also mildly inhibits melanin production — the pigment responsible for dark spots and uneven tone — which helps brighten skin over time. Additionally, curcumin's antioxidant properties help neutralize free radical damage from sun exposure and pollution, supporting a healthier, more even complexion.
DIY masks using kitchen turmeric powder are the most traditional form and widely accessible. Pre-made commercial masks often use optimized curcumin extracts for better skin penetration and consistent dosing, and may include complementary actives like niacinamide or hyaluronic acid. Clay-based turmeric masks add pore-cleansing benefits, while gel and sheet mask formats tend to be gentler and more hydrating. For home use, a basic mix of half a teaspoon of turmeric powder with plain yogurt or raw honey is the most time-tested starting point.
Turmeric has been used in South Asian skin care for over 4,000 years, documented in Ayurvedic texts like the Charaka Samhita. The 'haldi' pre-wedding ceremony — where a turmeric paste is applied to the bride and groom's skin — remains a living tradition across India, Pakistan, and Bangladesh, reflecting centuries of cultural knowledge about turmeric's skin-brightening and purifying effects. Traditional Unani and Siddha medicine systems also used turmeric topically for wound healing, skin infections, and inflammation.
