This app is so cool! I've always wanted there to be a hub for all NATURAL remedies and preventative options but l've always had to do loads of digging to find the info I wanted for different natural products. HealisticMD has all the info I need in one place. It gave me various natural supplemental options for a condition I looked up, including what each remedy does and how much is usually recommended to take. It also gave me exact products I could buy for the problem I had looked up. It makes my process SO MUCH easier when I need to find non-pharmaceutical solutions to my needs.

There is a wealth of information on the app! I recently had bloodwork done and found I was deficient in a handful of vitamins and minerals (Vitamin B12, Vitamin D, Iron, etc.) HealisticMD made it simple for me to find out what foods to eat/ supplements I needed to improve these deficiencies. It gives you so many ideas on prevention, natural health tips, where to buy the vitamins, when to take them, why, etc. I love how easy the app is to use too. I am currently working on getting pregnant. I was pleasantly surprised to find compelling data along with supplement suggestions to aid in the process, some of which my fertility doctor wasn’t even aware of. Highly recommend downloading, after all health is one our greatest gifts!

Sidr honey is a monofloral honey harvested from bees that feed exclusively on the blossoms of the Sidr tree (Ziziphus spina-christi), a plant mentioned in Islamic sacred texts and used medicinally for millennia across Yemen, Oman, Saudi Arabia, and the Indian subcontinent. Yemeni Sidr honey — particularly from the Hadramout and Doa'n valleys — is considered among the most therapeutically potent honeys in the world and commands significant market premiums due to its rarity and documented bioactivity. Its composition is richer in polyphenols, flavonoids, and antimicrobial compounds compared to most polyfloral honeys, which underlies its long-held reputation in Arabic, Islamic, and South Asian traditional medicine.
Sidr honey exerts antimicrobial activity through multiple simultaneous mechanisms: enzymatic hydrogen peroxide generation via glucose oxidase, direct antimicrobial action from methylglyoxal (MG), the bee-derived peptide defensin-1, and a high phenolic/flavonoid load that disrupts bacterial cell membranes and inhibits biofilm formation. Its low water activity (high osmolarity) creates a physically hostile environment for microbial growth, while its acidic pH further inhibits pathogens. Anti-inflammatory effects arise from polyphenolic modulation of NF-κB signaling and prostaglandin pathways, which supports tissue regeneration and immune modulation simultaneously.
Raw Sidr honey is the gold-standard form — unheated, unfiltered, and directly from traditional hive harvesting methods. It can be consumed directly by spoon, dissolved in warm (not hot) water, or applied topically to wounds. Adulteration is a significant concern; authentic Yemeni Sidr honey should be verified by laboratory phenolic profiling or geographic authenticity certification. It is sometimes combined with black seed (Nigella sativa) in Islamic traditional medicine formulations for enhanced antimicrobial effect.
