This app is so cool! I've always wanted there to be a hub for all NATURAL remedies and preventative options but l've always had to do loads of digging to find the info I wanted for different natural products. HealisticMD has all the info I need in one place. It gave me various natural supplemental options for a condition I looked up, including what each remedy does and how much is usually recommended to take. It also gave me exact products I could buy for the problem I had looked up. It makes my process SO MUCH easier when I need to find non-pharmaceutical solutions to my needs.

There is a wealth of information on the app! I recently had bloodwork done and found I was deficient in a handful of vitamins and minerals (Vitamin B12, Vitamin D, Iron, etc.) HealisticMD made it simple for me to find out what foods to eat/ supplements I needed to improve these deficiencies. It gives you so many ideas on prevention, natural health tips, where to buy the vitamins, when to take them, why, etc. I love how easy the app is to use too. I am currently working on getting pregnant. I was pleasantly surprised to find compelling data along with supplement suggestions to aid in the process, some of which my fertility doctor wasn’t even aware of. Highly recommend downloading, after all health is one our greatest gifts!

San Ren Tang (Three Seed Decoction) is a foundational formula from the Qing Dynasty classic 'Systematic Differentiation of Warm Diseases' (Wenbing Tiaobian) by Wu Jutong, written around 1798. It was specifically designed to treat what Chinese medicine calls 'damp-warm' conditions — illnesses where heat and excess moisture become trapped in the middle and upper parts of the body. The formula is built around three seed herbs that are thought to work on different levels of the body, supported by five additional herbs traditionally used to promote fluid movement and clear heat.
In Chinese medicine terms, San Ren Tang is thought to work by opening the upper body's 'Lung qi' to move stagnant fluids, warming and activating the middle digestive system to transform dampness, and draining excess heat and moisture downward through the urinary pathway. Its ingredients are traditionally understood to support digestion, reduce internal congestion, promote fluid balance, and gently stimulate motility, though these effects have not been confirmed in clinical trials. The combination is intended to address a sluggish, congested internal state rather than targeting a single organ or pathway.
Traditionally prepared as a decoction by simmering the herbs in water — this remains the gold standard for potency and allows dose adjustment. Ready-made granule powders dissolve in hot water and offer a convenient modern alternative with consistent dosing. Patent pills and capsules are the most portable option but tend to have lower bioavailability than decoctions. When purchasing granules or pills, look for GMP-certified products from reputable producers such as Sun Ten, Evergreen Herbs, or KPC.
San Ren Tang was codified by Wu Jutong in 1798 during the Qing Dynasty as part of the Wenbing (Warm Disease) school, a major theoretical advancement in Chinese medicine that focused specifically on febrile and infectious diseases. The formula reflected a sophisticated understanding that summer illnesses often involved both heat AND dampness together — a combination that required a gentler, multi-directional approach compared to simply purging heat. It remains one of the most taught and prescribed formulas in both classical and modern TCM practice for humid-heat conditions.
What it is typically used for, usual dose, cautions, and the study behind it where real trial data exists.
