This app is so cool! I've always wanted there to be a hub for all NATURAL remedies and preventative options but l've always had to do loads of digging to find the info I wanted for different natural products. HealisticMD has all the info I need in one place. It gave me various natural supplemental options for a condition I looked up, including what each remedy does and how much is usually recommended to take. It also gave me exact products I could buy for the problem I had looked up. It makes my process SO MUCH easier when I need to find non-pharmaceutical solutions to my needs.

There is a wealth of information on the app! I recently had bloodwork done and found I was deficient in a handful of vitamins and minerals (Vitamin B12, Vitamin D, Iron, etc.) HealisticMD made it simple for me to find out what foods to eat/ supplements I needed to improve these deficiencies. It gives you so many ideas on prevention, natural health tips, where to buy the vitamins, when to take them, why, etc. I love how easy the app is to use too. I am currently working on getting pregnant. I was pleasantly surprised to find compelling data along with supplement suggestions to aid in the process, some of which my fertility doctor wasn’t even aware of. Highly recommend downloading, after all health is one our greatest gifts!

Sage essential oil comes from Salvia officinalis, a herb native to the Mediterranean basin whose name literally means 'to heal' in Latin. The oil is produced by steam distillation of the dried leaves and has one of the longest recorded histories of any medicinal plant — used by ancient Egyptians, Greeks, Romans, and throughout medieval European herbalism. Its rich, warm, slightly camphorous aroma carries an equally rich chemistry with genuine physiological effects.
The key active compounds — thujone, camphor, and 1,8-cineole — influence the nervous system, hormonal signaling, and microbial activity. 1,8-cineole in particular appears to support memory and focus by inhibiting an enzyme (acetylcholinesterase) that breaks down the brain's main memory chemical. Thujone and other terpenoids interact with estrogen receptors, which may explain the oil's ability to reduce menopausal hot flashes. Camphor and borneol contribute to the oil's anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial properties.
For aromatherapy, add 3–5 drops to a diffuser. For topical use, always dilute to 1–2% in a carrier oil (like jojoba or sweet almond) before applying to skin — this means about 6–12 drops per ounce of carrier oil. Standardized oral sage extracts in capsule form exist as a separate product category and follow different dosing rules; these are not the same as the raw essential oil.
Sage has been called the 'sacred herb' across multiple civilizations. Medieval Europeans planted it in every apothecary garden and used it for everything from memory loss to fever. Native American traditions use white sage (Salvia apiana) — a related but distinct species — for ceremonial smudging and purification. Modern research has circled back to validate many of these historical uses, particularly around cognition and menopause.
What it is typically used for, usual dose, cautions, and the study behind it where real trial data exists.
