Mihudo is the fruit of the hardy kiwi vine. Its Latin name is Actinidia arguta. It is used on its own in Korean herb care, not as part of a blend.
Healers gave it to ease thirst, settle a weak stomach, and help urine flow. The fruit is small, green and smooth. You can eat it whole, skin and all.
In Sasang care, a Korean system of four body types, Mihudo suits the Taeyangin type. Human trials are lacking. Long use in a tradition is not proof that a thing works.
No one has shown how Mihudo works in the body. The fruit holds vitamin C and plant colours. In lab dishes these mop up harmful molecules.
Whether that changes anything in a person is unknown. Korean texts call it a cool, moist fruit that quells thirst and frees the flow of urine. That is how the old tradition describes it.
The fruit also holds fibre and an enzyme that breaks down protein. Both could plausibly aid digestion. That link has not been tested in people for this fruit.
Fresh fruit is the main form. Dried slices, juice, jam and fruit wine are also sold. Some makers offer powder or capsules made from fruit extract.
In old Korean practice, the dried fruit was simmered in water to make a tea. Amounts and strength differ a lot between products. No form has been tested in a human trial.
Mihudo has a long record in Korean herb books. Joseon-era texts list it as a fruit for thirst, for a weak stomach and for slow urine flow.
It was later tied to Sasang care, set out by Lee Je-ma in the late 1800s. There it is matched to the Taeyangin body type.
The vine grows wild in the hills of Korea, and the fruit has long been picked and eaten as food as well.
Some reactions to Mihudo need urgent care. Call your local emergency number or go to an emergency department straight away — do not wait to see whether it passes.
Call emergency services at once if your lips, tongue or throat swell, if your breathing gets tight or wheezy, or if you feel faint after eating it. These are signs of a severe allergic reaction.
See a doctor soon if you get hives, repeated stomach pain or vomiting after eating it.
Also see a doctor if the problem you are treating does not improve within two to four weeks, or if you have blood in your urine, pain passing urine, yellow skin or eyes, or unexplained bruising and bleeding.

There is a wealth of information on the app! I recently had bloodwork done and found I was deficient in a handful of vitamins and minerals (Vitamin B12, Vitamin D, Iron, etc.) HealisticMD made it simple for me to find out what foods to eat/ supplements I needed to improve these deficiencies. It gives you so many ideas on prevention, natural health tips, where to buy the vitamins, when to take them, why, etc. I love how easy the app is to use too. I am currently working on getting pregnant. I was pleasantly surprised to find compelling data along with supplement suggestions to aid in the process, some of which my fertility doctor wasn’t even aware of. Highly recommend downloading, after all health is one our greatest gifts!
