This app is so cool! I've always wanted there to be a hub for all NATURAL remedies and preventative options but l've always had to do loads of digging to find the info I wanted for different natural products. HealisticMD has all the info I need in one place. It gave me various natural supplemental options for a condition I looked up, including what each remedy does and how much is usually recommended to take. It also gave me exact products I could buy for the problem I had looked up. It makes my process SO MUCH easier when I need to find non-pharmaceutical solutions to my needs.

There is a wealth of information on the app! I recently had bloodwork done and found I was deficient in a handful of vitamins and minerals (Vitamin B12, Vitamin D, Iron, etc.) HealisticMD made it simple for me to find out what foods to eat/ supplements I needed to improve these deficiencies. It gives you so many ideas on prevention, natural health tips, where to buy the vitamins, when to take them, why, etc. I love how easy the app is to use too. I am currently working on getting pregnant. I was pleasantly surprised to find compelling data along with supplement suggestions to aid in the process, some of which my fertility doctor wasn’t even aware of. Highly recommend downloading, after all health is one our greatest gifts!

Candle Bush (Senna alata) is a fast-growing tropical shrub named for its tall, candle-like spikes of bright yellow flowers. It grows abundantly across Southeast Asia, sub-Saharan Africa, Central America, and the Caribbean, where it has been a cornerstone of traditional skin care for generations. The plant is listed in the Philippine national pharmacopeia as an approved herbal medicine, one of only a small number of plants to receive that designation.
The leaves contain anthraquinone compounds — particularly chrysophanol and chrysarobin — that are thought to disrupt the cell membranes of fungi like Trichophyton and Microsporum, the organisms behind ringworm and tinea infections. These same compounds may also stimulate movement in the intestinal wall, which is why the plant has a long traditional reputation as a laxative. Flavonoids like kaempferol are thought to contribute anti-inflammatory and antioxidant activity, which may help calm the redness and itch that often accompany skin infections.
Topical preparations — fresh leaf poultice, ointments, or standardized creams — are the most widely used and traditionally validated forms. Internal use as a tea or capsule is used for constipation but requires more care with dosing to avoid dependence. Standardized leaf extract creams (often 5–10% concentration) are the most practical form for home use.
Candle Bush has been an official medicinal plant in the Philippines since the 1990s under the Department of Health's 'Ten Medicinal Plants' program. In West African traditional medicine it is used to treat scabies, eczema, and parasitic skin conditions. In Brazil and the Caribbean it is called 'pinhão roxo' or 'ringworm bush' and applied directly to fungal patches on the skin. Its widespread, independent adoption across three continents reflects a long record of real-world effectiveness.
What it is typically used for, usual dose, cautions, and the study behind it where real trial data exists.
