Room spins when I roll over in bed
You turn on your side in bed, and the room takes off spinning. It may last a few seconds, or up to a minute. Then it settles, until you move your head again.
This kind of spin is tied to head position. Your inner ear holds tiny crystals of calcium. If they drift out of place, your brain reads the motion as spinning.
Other things can set off spinning too. An ear bug, a migraine, low blood pressure, or some medicines can all play a part. Poor sleep, stress, and too little water can make it feel worse.
When to see someone
See a doctor soon if the spinning is new, harsh, or will not stop. Get help right away for slurred speech, double vision, a bad headache, or a weak or numb face, arm or leg. You should also be checked for new hearing loss, ringing in one ear, fluid from the ear, fever, chest pain, fainting, a fall, or a recent blow to the head.
Below is a list of folk and home remedies people have long used for dizziness. Each one carries a grade that shows how much research backs it, from strong to very thin. A grade is not a promise, so read it as a guide, and talk with your doctor before you try anything new.
